Inertia Product Development provided product design and management services for Just Vertical, an indoor garden firm. The company aimed to design and manufacture in-home hydroponic grow gardens, the AEVA and EVE. Inertia's team of approximately 10 individuals, including product designers, engineers, and program managers, worked closely with Just Vertical throughout the project. The collaboration resulted in the elimination of expensive equipment, a 10x reduction in production time and labor costs, a 40% reduction in manufacturing space, and over 60% reduction in cost on the optimized elements. Inertia's project management style was highly effective, with regular updates and efficient communication. Just Vertical found their teams to be highly collaborative, working towards the common goal of creating a beautiful, manufacturable, scalable, and sustainable product. Although Just Vertical initially had trouble justifying the cost of design and prototype development, they ultimately received significant value from it, showcasing the prototypes to investors and at events prior to the official product launch.
